Well, the Inn’s been busy lately. And I don’t mean from guests. Although they’ve been that, too.
My wife just startled me to tell me she couldn’t believe she forgot to tell me this. Last night her reports printed, so she went down to the first floor to get them. When she came back, she was waiting at the elevator. For whatever reason, the music that typically plays constantly right there was off, and things were quiet.
Suddenly, she heard a man behind her say loudly, “I didn’t tell you my name!” She spun around and nobody was there. Anywhere.
What’s interesting about this is, it happened at exactly 3:45 AM. What was said makes it more interesting.
You might remember I told you about how the phone at the front desk rang and when she answered it nobody was there. The call came from the GM’s office. The second time it rang that night was at that host kiosk at the top of the steps, also from the GM’s office, also dead air. And there was nobody in the GM’s office to make those calls. The second call, at the top of the steps, came at exactly 3:45 AM.
The bottom of those steps is exactly where my wife was standing while waiting on the elevator. And apparently, whoever called from inside the GM’s office was upset that she never gave him a chance to tell her his name.
Looks like 3:45 is when I’m going to be doing some investigating the next time I’m there over night with her, which will be in two days.
